Gives great advice on the value and maintenance of collectable trains. Also has ingenious track and wiring plans. I have actually used one of these plans to build my son's first layout. I really enjoy the product reviews of the latest and greatest that are available from Lionel, MTH, Weaver, Williams, and Atlas. It helps me to decide what the next purchase is going to be. The photo coverage of layouts from individuals is a great inspiration to me and provides great ideas for my future layout.

Classic Toy Trains Magazine is the premier magazine for the O and S scale model railroader. The articles cater to the novice as well as the experienced hobbyist. Vintage trains as well as current production are featured. The magazine is staffed by train enthusiasts who share a passion for the hobby. Scenery, building and layout construction and repairs are covered in nearly every issue. Many articles are written by average hobbyists and show what you can accomplish with some time and energy. This magazine promotes family values and togetherness.

I have purchased other model train magazines in the past, but none compare to Classic Toy Trains Magazine. It has the best articles on layouts and how-to's I've found. I keep them as a reference library and look forward to the next issue each month.

Model or toy train enthusiasts who collect and operate primarily "postwar" or new 0 gauge trains may find Classic Toy Trains magazine interesting and useful. The word "Classic" in the title might be a bit misleading to collectors of prewar 0 and standard gauge tinplate toy trains (pre-WWII) since the bulk of the articles and photographs contained in each issue are of "postwar" and modern 0 gauge trains and layouts. Each issue of the magazine contains various technical articles, an editorial column, a "Q&A" column, and many mail order ads as well as an ample resources section. A relatively recent feature was the addition of a photo spread of reader-submitted train layout photographs in each issue. Classic Toy Trains is a nice magazine for those with the hobby interests outlined above.

Classic Toy Trains is the most comprehensive magazine for the collectors of o-scale and tin plate trains available on the market today. Each magazine is packed full of information on how to work on trains, how to build layouts, and incredible photos of the best layouts in the world. If you collect trains or plan to begin, this is the place to start.
